Creative Founder: What to fix in my startup?

What is the most important thing to fix in my startup? The most difficult thing as the CEO is prioritizing and going with your gut. I met with my team and we determined the most important things that needed to be done. Once we did this, we asked our mentor, Christina Wodtke, to go through the agenda with us and check on our deadlines to make sure our priorities were correct. Once we confirmed, we moved on to validate our value proposition.

We are still struggling with many ideas and we need to narrow down our scope. Uncertainty and ambiguity have definitely been holding us back and we need to go out and test our assumptions. Talk to people. Learn. Iterate. Make things.

Our numbers need some work, there is some drama in the team, but we cannot afford to lose our momentum. We needed to get out of the building again, divide and conquer.

We got to talk to more people and found out that we needed to divide our value prop into two. One for mentors and one for mentees. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense. We have a double sided market and we need to be as clear as we can. I once again learned that being inside the office thinking things over and over is not as useful as going out and talking to people. They have the answers, but you must come with the right questions.
