Over the past few years, we have seen an increase in startups as well as journals publishing on Medium. This happened because organizations realized that being present and visible comes with many benefits:

  • Become more discoverable by potential audience you didn’t know about
  • Gain social media followers that you can re-engage with in the future
  • Understand who your readers are and hence who you are designing your products for

In the technology industry, companies have become aware of the importance of having a voice, without relying on media companies. When we launched X back in 2010 we saw our opportunity to invent moonshot technologies that would radically change the world for the better; every action taken since then was guided by this principle.

It is with that mission in mind that I’m excited to welcome Telescope to our family. A lot of technology groups discuss the meaning of being visible but Telescope believes in something slightly different — celebrating research process and progress is more important than simply sharing results and achievements.

Telescope will continue to grow their platform and help increase researchers and research groups’ visibility. In many ways, Telescope and us have already been collaborating. Since their launch, our director has been a guest on Telescope’s podcast, and our research projects are also accessible on their platform. With Telescope as part of our family, there’s even more opportunity to make long-term technology research works visible. We couldn’t be more excited to have them as part of the family.
