How did we use “Design Charette” to decide our product direction?

Week5- Creative Founder

Design Charette is The Best Way for Decision-making

Our creative founder BAX team start to enter a new stage. We want to narrow down our product direction. We did two “Charette” during last week, which helps us to imagine a much clear vision about how to develop our product soon, later and eventually.

We did 2 “Charette” practices, I want to take you to Round2 :

  • Value Proposition Canvas helps us to identify customer’s Past, Pain, and Gain. After that, we work separately to brainstorm features, products, and services. (collaborated)
Round 2 - Value Proposition Canvas
  • Creating quick Storyboards helps us to envision product scenarios/stories as well as identify what problem we are trying to solve. (individual)
Quick storyboards
  • Low fidelity wireframe is a quick way to visually pitch our concepts.

After that, we discuss about our value props:

Our traveler matching service helps people who are traveling to new and exciting places connect with other travelers or locals based on their travel preference, unlike using dating apps like Tinder or hosting services like Airbnb.

  • Participatory roadmaps is a good way to listen to our customers’ voices, as well as iterate our product strategy. Participants help us to reorder what we might want to develop soon, later, and eventually.
Tingting helped us to reorder roadmap

Since we have a much more clear direction for our product, we planned our next steps:

  • Finalize wireframes and storyboards
  • Participatory design: Co-create wireframes and storyboards with users
  • Do competitive research comparing BAX and other similar apps/services
  • Interview with professionals who work in the travel industry

Something Keeps In Mind:

  1. What is it different between BAX and Airbnb experience?
  2. Target on specific travelers
  3. Add more stories not just what we did
  4. Make sure people understand our value —why they want to revisit our site and recommend to friends.

I am very passionate about our concept and direction, our team members are trying best to contribute on our startup. I think we need to manage our time better next week, so we can get more time to sleep lol:)
