Planit: Revenue Pitch Reflection
Last week team Saturn had a good week for presentations. We thought this week would be a breeze, but again, we were stunned by the rapid passing of time.
This week we were to explore revenue models for our products. This week our team split in order to conduct user research. Julian Crespo and Adam Brumley teamed up to discover how our target market has behaved in the past, and what revenue streams would be the most efficient in allowing us to reach them. Meanwhile, Yuan Gao and I headed to the University of California Berkeley to continue to concierge our product. We learned a lot this week, but that was part of the problem. We were taught the skeleton of a pitch, and we have been filling in the gaps along the way. We attained so many insightful comments that we only knew how to make the pitch longer, while the time restraint remained the same.
We knew in the past that we always have to give context to our pitch and frame well, which we did, however we forgot the main focus of this weeks pitch: revenue. We cut some things from our old pitch deck to make room for the new, but we probably spent over 2/3 of our pitch this week on details that were not related to revenue.
After talking with Kate and Christina, we learned a bit more about how to hone in our pitch so it doesn’t go over the time limit while still giving the proper amount of context.
