KeepSara is back, sorry for the hiatus! I’m finally coming out of a month of depression, I’m now ready to crank out for the next 3 final weeks of the semester ! \( ´ω`)/››
Since I started going downhill 5 weeks ago there were many times I questioned if I, a depressed lonely young thing, is capable of being CEO of pl8s, or if I should even be in school in the first place, and I felt responsible for my group slowing down in productivity and getting things done. There’s a lot of catching up to do but I’m glad I didn’t give up, and I’m so grateful for my teammates for sticking with me and letting me stick with them ♡
How will BuildingBlocks make money? This has been a struggle for me: there are plenty of resources such as NERT that help people plan for earthquakes that are free. Would people pay to use our service? Would companies want to advertise on our platform, and if we do, would that be enough?
Right now our hypothesis is that people would try out BuildingBlocks for free, but since it’s a community based service that would be more useful with more people, they would want to invite others. Once their group reaches more than 5 units, each unit would pay $10 annually, but the annual fee would decrease as they add more units (an incentive to add even more people.)
Although we feel it’s a reasonable price, it still feels like I’m ripping people off because NERT gives you direct training from SFPD officers for free. I need to think deeper about the benefits BuildingBlocks gives people (connecting with local neighbors, saving time, direct action and communication) and feel more confident (and test!!!)
