sun beaming over the rugged Italian Riviera,

brilliant colored buildings from a past era,

I stare up at them all in a paradoxical state of awed terror.

Beauty tenfold amongst the waves and the sunlight,

perhaps none quite understand the exact nature of my plight,

to be so enraptured by their brilliance in the daylight,

and yet dismayed by their disappearance in the mystery of the moonlight.
