The Importance and Fear of Being Seen.
When somebody can see what we haven’t said.
Normally I can just let the words flow through me, fearlessly throwing a few sentences together.
There are parts of us we hid for good reasons, the parts people found too ugly, beautiful, powerful, creative, soft, hard, damaged, and divine.
I have worked successfully for years holding mirrors up to people and in the mirror they see strength compassion and faith, this is what most of us want.
We want to know if we will be accepted.
We want the faith to believe better times are ahead.
We want to see our strength to cope until they do.
However, sometimes somebody brings a weird lamp.
They meekly ask you, is it worth anything?
Thinking you are an expert at the spiritual antique roadshow, I look thoughtful and ask them, how much is magic worth?
Sometimes if you are really lucky you see such power the world can be transformed.
I have to find a way to convince this person, sometimes broken by life, they have unbelieve power.
First, however, you have to convince them they are worthy and can trust themselves to use the power well.
The lamp creates limitless wishes.
The first wish I suggest is to let go of the fear of rejection and let everybody who can’t see your new beautiful life drift out of it.
The second wish is to gain clarity about who you choose to be.
The third wish is compassion for yourself and others while you are on your journey.
The fourth wish is the happiness of others because they are your mirrors not competition.
The fifth wish is if you ever see a beautiful mirror that reflects the powerful part of you hidden by fear, embrace it for you will create so much energy and clear each other's shadows.
If you’re really lucky you may be able to tell the difference between excitement and fear, which may arrive in large waves.
The strange thing about a beautiful mirror is if you look in it long enough you won’t recognize the old limited self.
The new powerful you will see beautiful mirrors everywhere.
