Captured Feelings
We can have it all, but not in this world
How Islam transforms the quest for fulfilment
You can have it all.
This message was a constant promise throughout my life.
It painted a picture of seamless success: a thriving career, a joyful family, vibrant personal pursuits, and unwavering well-being.
This was the ideal I was taught to strive for, and I certainly did, pouring years of effort into making it my reality.
But slowly, the perfect image began to crack. It wasn’t a sudden shock, but a gradual, quiet understanding that this all-encompassing promise was simply unattainable in this life.
For a brief moment in time, sadness settled in regarding my unfulfilled dreams, and the never-reaching state of completeness.
But then, a different perspective began to emerge, bringing with it a deep sense of peace. Perhaps the saying itself wasn’t a lie, but simply an incomplete truth.
We can have it all, but not in this world.
And this is where my faith truly helps me understand this universal human experience.
