“The slower you go, the more you will get out of this. We are working to be healthy for the rest of your life. You can’t rush that.” — said my Pilates teacher.

As someone who frequently finds myself caught up in the chaos of life, striving for quick results, her reminder to slow down was a much-needed lesson.

It forced me to reflect on my approach to not only Pilates but also other areas of my life. And it reminded me of this beautiful saying I had found years ago on Pinterest and had as my phone wallpaper for a period.

You can’t rush something you want to last forever. — Anonymous

Whether it’s a relationship, career goal, a creative project, a physical or spiritual pursuit, we often feel the pressure to achieve things quickly.

But is rushing really the answer?

The truth is, when we try to force things to happen faster than they naturally should, we risk compromising their quality and longevity.

Think about a garden. If you try to force a plant to bloom before its time, it might not be as vibrant or last as long.
