Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born on August 9th, 1963. She had one of the greatest voices of all time. On February 11, 2012, the night before the Grammy awards, America’s sweetheart died. She was 48 years old. Her voice and beauty were unmatched.

She was born in Newark, New Jersey, to a mother who was a gospel singer. Emily “Cissy” Houston and Dionne Warwick was her cousin. And Aretha Franklin was Whitney’s godmother. Whitney was born into a musical family and destined to be a singer. As a child, she sang in the church choir in New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.

The ’80s and ’90s were all About Whitney Houston. You couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing her incredible singing voice. Some of her hits, “I want to dance with someone,” “The greatest love of all, (her favorite), “Where do broken hearts go,” “I will always love you” from The Bodyguard movie, which was the highest-selling movie soundtrack of all time. Whitney had it all, an incredible voice, beauty, talent, two hit movies, Waiting to Exhale and the Preachers Wife, but she also had her demons.
