“I knew from the first moment we talked that we were going to be together,” Moss said.

It’s the year 1994, Johnny Depp and Kate Moss had met in New York City in a cafe.

At the time of this interaction, Depp was newly in the limelight after his big break off of “21 Jump Street” in the late 1980s. Moss was traveling the world on modeling business and lived out of hotels. An investment had just popped off with Depp, The Viper Room off of Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. The party scene is much of their flavor, where their relationship was put on display most.

A superstar dynamic allured all the romance, with sources being friends claiming they could never keep their hands, mouth, legs, lips off of each other.

Kate being 21 involved with Johnny, 32. The eleven-year difference played a part to their trope. Aspiring Kate Moss would confide in Depp with her career and life choices, she took his word for it and would follow through. That sense of dependency bled into their home life. When they moved in together for six months in New York, she too had set up her living situation in his house. When Depp went away to LA to tend after his nightclub, Johnny was reportedly unaware “of the level of neediness” and claimed he was unsure if they were even together at that time, or that he was just a place to crash. Moss’s partying behaviors at this time became a major issue, she was given the nickname “The Tank”.

The troublemakers would then question the sustainability of this dynamic, when the breakup happened in 1997. Word by Johnny, “it’s all my fault” he said, “We had so much going for our relationship. I’m the one to take responsibility.” Then went on to claim, “I was difficult to get on with”. He was more focused on work, the drift between them caused their separate ways.

Moss is said to have spent years crying over him, “Johnny was the only person in the world that could surprise me. I thought I had seen everything there was to see but Johnny always showed me more.” She claimed to have spent 1998 trying to numb the pain.

After the breakup, in short, Depp had became familiar with Vanessa Paradis in 1998 after their brief interaction meeting in a Paris hotel, they once crossed paths again. They later went on to have two kids together.

Once the news of their first child surfaced, Moss checked herself into rehab. It was later that same year her party girl image followed her name. A particular late night bender resulted in Moss trashing the $12,000 per night room. Hotel de Cap had asked her to not run throughout the hallways in just a bikini. When the public intoxication became too much, Hotel de Cap had no choice but to give her the boot.

For one of her birthdays, Johnny Depp reportedly filled up a bathtub of champagne for her, making it obvious of the love for one another. Despite glorious love acts of service, through this there were still floating rumors of screaming matches from the couple. So much so, to the point where the police were called in 1994 to the Upper East Side to Mark Hotel over a cheating dispute. Upon arrival officers referred to a disarrayed Kate Moss, “impossibly intoxicated”. Mr. Depp has demolished the entire presidential sweet, flipped the place upside down. When asked the simple question of, what happened…Johnny said, “there’s an armadillo in my closet.”

There’s a snake in my boot!

Fun fact: Kate once said in an interview, that Depp presented her a diamond necklace in between his booty.

Quite the offering!
