Dorothy Stratten, for many men, was a fantasy come true. She was a playmate of the month and playmate of the year. Her husband, Paul Snider, placed a 12-gauge shotgun on her face and pulled the trigger. She was twenty years old.

Stratten was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her birth name was Dorothy Ruth Hoogstraten. she was born in 1960 and died on August 14, 1980. Professionally, she shortens it to Dorothy Stratten. While in High school, Stratten worked part-time in Dairy Queen, where she met Paul Snider, 29. They dated. He persuaded her into posing nude for photos. He sent them to Playboy shortly after she signed a contract with Playboy.
