It’s not unusual for busy people to stay at work late into the night. It is also quite common for people to commute far from home in order to get to their place of employment. Sometimes going back to the safety of your own home for the night just isn’t feasible, but choosing to stay in the comfort of a close friend’s home instead shouldn’t lead to your demise.

Robert Wone

Robert Wone was a 32-year-old attorney who worked in Washington D.C. On the morning of August 2, 2006, he left his home in Virginia for work with a busy day planned ahead of him.

Robert spent the day at his office working before spending the evening taking a Continuing Law Education Course. Normally, he would catch the train back to Virginia with his wife, but he had different plans for the night. Robert had just started a new job at Radio Free Asia and he wanted to meet his overnight staff so he stayed late at work that night.

Instead of going home, Robert had made arrangements to stay at the home of a close friend from his college days, and fellow attorney, for the night. He arrived at his friend, Joseph Price’s, townhouse in the prestigious Dupont Circle area of Washington D.C. at approximately 10:30 p.m.
