Jack Nance was an iconic actor who was known for his roles in David Lynch films. He was best known for his role in the 1978 cult film Eraserhead. Despite being an excellent actor, he didn’t frequently work in the industry and took odd jobs to make ends meet when he wasn’t acting.

Nance’s life was one filled with unhappiness and despair though it had also been filled with promise and potential that would go unreached. Nance was known for his bad temper. He also had a serious drinking problem that interfered with his career and love life.

His alcohol addiction led to the end of his marriage to Catherine E. Coulson, who was known for her role in the David Lynch series Twin Peaks as the Log Lady, in which Nance also starred. Although their marriage ended, the couple continued to work together.

When Nance began working on Lynch’s film Blue Velvet, his co-star Dennis Hopper tried to get him the help he needed by checking him into a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles, California. It appeared to be what Nance needed as he cleaned himself up and got his life back on track.
