Shari Smith was a 17-year-old high school student. She was admired by all her peers and her parents described her as the glue that held the family together. She was 2 days away from graduating high school when the unimaginable occurred.
On May 31, 1985, Shari pulled up to her driveway to pick up the mail. Her father watched her from the window as she grabbed the mail and proceeded to wait for Shari inside. Over 5 minutes had passed and she still had not gone inside the house. Shari’s father walked to the mailbox where he saw her car running but she was nowhere to be seen.
Immediately, Shari’s parents called the police. The sheriff immediately organized a search party for Shari who had seemingly disappeared into thin air. It wouldn't be long until tantalizing phone calls about Shari’s wellbeing began to terrorize her family.
