On August 7, 1996, Tim Lyons and TJ DeJohn headed out to the lake to go fishing. They had no luck with fish however they found what seemed to be a human skull. Unsure, the boys went back home and it wasn’t until the next day when they told their parents about it. In disbelief, the parents contacted the police to go check out the scene. The skull was in fact a human skull.

Immediately after, there were boats on the scene and investigators scuba diving, looking for more evidence. There were scratches all over the skull and it had no teeth. The police were in shock and in cases like this, where the teeth would be the only indication of who the skull belonged to, police had no evidence to use.

No Evidence but A Damaged Skull

The local coroner examined the skull and determined it had only been in the lake for a few weeks. Though there was still soft tissue on the skull, the coroner could tell that…
