Are you interested in volunteering and helping out the Austin community? Well, the holidays are a great time to give back to the community!

By volunteering during the holidays, you may be helping the less fortunate during a time of giving, family and love. Volunteering around the community also shows that you are leading by example and spreading holiday cheer.

Below are a few places/ways that you can volunteer and give your time to the Austin community.

Central Texas Food Bank

6500 Metropolis Dr, Austin, TX 78744

The Central Texas Food Bank’s mission is to nourish hungry people and lead the community in the fight against hunger. You can either volunteer or donate to the charity to help them provide meals to the less fortunate. To volunteer/donate, you can start by visiting their website to get more information.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes

Headquarters: 9301 Hog Eye Road, Suite 950, Austin, TX 78724

The Mobile Loaves & Fishes mission is to provide food and clothing, cultivate community and promote dignity to our homeless brothers and sisters in need. You can volunteer at the Community First Village or at a food truck ministry. For more information on how to get started, visit their website.

Toys for Tots

Visit the Toys for Tots website to find your local campaign location.

The Marine Toys for Tots mission is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute them to less fortunate children at Christmas. A few ways you can contribute to your local Toys for Tots are to:

  • Donate toys at a toy drop location
  • Host a Toys for Tots event to collect toys and/or volunteer at the local warehouse.

For more information, visit their website.

These are just a few ways that you can volunteer and help the people of the Austin community. For more places and ways you can volunteer, visit do512.com.
