We all know graduating high school can be exciting, terrifying, and everything in between. As the class of 2022 gets ready to graduate on June 1st, what better way to show underclassmen the ins and outs than to deliver some of the best advice from our future graduates.

After speaking with a few members of the senior class about their regrets, advice to incoming seniors and their favorite memories, all encouraged the classes of ’25, ’24 and ’23 to always stay on top of their studies, listen to their passions and enjoy high school because it goes by fast.

Here are a few kind words from the graduating Class of 2022:

Words From Brianna Bridges

“Just because it’s your last year doesn’t mean it don’t matter finish strong. Apply for colleges as soon as possible, do not wait till the last minute.”

Marissa Preciado Implied

“Never be scared to ask for help when you need it, get things done when you’re supposed to. From personal experience, I can tell you actually completing work and getting credits is the hardest task as a senior.”

Keith Irving Believes

“Don’t head into freshman through junior years thinking you can slack off and make up for it later, doing so will decrease your confidence and motivation to complete senior year with requirements met”

Edwin Garcia Expressed

“Focus on what’s best for you and figure out what you want to do after high school. Personally I recommend to start applying for scholarships and colleges within two months into the school year as an incoming senior.”

Monze Rojo Perez Implied

“I would just like to say that senior year can be crazy. Never leave things last minute. Yeah, I get the fact you don’t want to do it at that moment in time but it’s better to get it over with. That way you can enjoy your time later and do something you enjoy. Especially making sure you communicate with your teachers and fellow peers so you know you’re not alone in doing certain tasks.

I also encourage everyone to make every moment your last and say what’s on your mind. Crockett High School is a diverse place, a home that everyone is welcomed into. Be true to yourself and others. Enjoy your life to the fullest, make new friends, try new things and overall plan for your future. Because time is ticking.”

If I could go back to freshman year, there would be so many things I would advise myself to do. However, in the wise words of my classmates: enjoy it and take this advice seriously. Senior year is unquestionably the hardest year to get through.
