A digital image of a human figure crushed to the ground with an ominous tentacle above. In the background is a small bird that might be fleeing and a darker bird. The image is made of simple lines with muted colors, but the entire image has been covered with splotches and digital graining patterns. Art by Doodleslice 2024

And tragedies
And wah
Wah
WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Can’t I write it louder?

This mute paper
Muffling
Smothering
Anguish deserves better

Adapted as we are
For tragic potions
Whodunnit miseries

Falling past Darwin
Into overwhelm

We aren’t built for the firehose

A laminar flow
Billion gallons of bites

Flesh tears
From soak-scarred throats
Drowned before swallowing

Stupidity
In bombardment
Shrinking gray bleeds pink
Violence

Souls impoverished
Sandpapered eyes
Blind to pickpockets
Influencing chairs
To recline in green luxury
