In which the procrastinating protagonist drags his feet, is momentarily bedeviled, and finally goes around to getting someplace, thankfully.
Hello dear friends. The day begins in darkness. Such are the somber ways of late November. But do not let that dim — for the dim is just a whim — do not let it dim the brightness of your eyes, nor let the gray dark chill leech away the warmth of your heart. For here we are, elbows on the counter, pilgrims all, pausing to rest in fellowship and conversation. Though our paths will shortly fray and branch again — in but a moment, an hour, a day — yet for these few moments, our journeys have braided their fibers into this pleasant friendship bracelet that winds around us — reminds us, with its gentle colorful links, that we are bound by our commonalities, and perhaps this, our restful sojourn, may remain a lifting memory in the drifting days to come. I, for one, hope it will be so, and depend on that hope as a crutch for days when humor fails and despair assails. We begin in gloom, but that is just the morning.
