I know what you are all thinking, reading this first sentence, after having clicked on this link while scrolling through your twitter feed: what could this piece entail? Isn’t it obviously jelly? Why is there a piece about this? Why is Jaleel writing something that doesn’t have to do with rap in some way? Why are there still questions?

I’ve decided to write about something that I am truly passionate about, something that speaks to me above all else, something that is a game changer and is constantly overlooked. It is the fact that one of the best duos known to man is not peanut butter and jelly, but instead peanut butter and any form of chocolate. Now, I know that most of you just gasped. How could I say something so risqué? How do I have the audacity to disrespect an American classic like that? I’ll tell you how. Because peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are very overhyped. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a six out of ten at best, and sometimes they just suck. They get too sticky or soggy and I just hate dealing with that. I mean hell, I’ll have a plain peanut butter sandwich before I add jelly.

Before you hit the “done” button in the top left corner, hear me out. Hear what I have to say because damnit I stand by saying that peanut butter and chocolate aren’t just the ultimate dynamic duo they’re literally meant to be together for the rest of eternity (that was slightly dramatic but you get the idea).

1) PEANUT BUTTER & NUTELLA SANDWICHES

Okay we’re going to build our way up and start from the base. Some might’ve cocked their heads at this but have you ever had one? Peanut butter & Nutella sandwiches trump PB&Js any day of the week. They’re so versatile, you can have it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, or dessert. I remember when I would have one almost every day after dinner (throwback to my fat-boy-dayz). It’s just the fact that tasting the rich hazelnut, chocolatey taste of Nutella along with the creamy peanut butter against two slices of lightly toasted bread makes everything feel right in the world.

2) PEANUT BUTTER & CHOCOLATE FLAVORED DESSERTS

The great thing about this dynamic duo is that it is not limited to a measly sandwich like peanut butter and jelly is. The fact of the matter is that you can enjoy this duo in some form other than a sandwich, shows why it’s so great and necessary to human life. Buckeyes are the prime example. I could eat fifty of those little guys in like twenty minutes.

Have you ever had a chocolate cake with a peanut butter icing? Have you ever had a peanut butter cookie with chocolate on top? HAVE YOU HAD A PEANUT BUTTER BROWNIE? DEAR LORD. All of these things are to die for and you really couldn’t do it with any other combo.

3) REESE’S, MOTHERF***ER

Okay this deserved its own section because it stands on its own. I mean for the love of peanut butter cups, holy shit man (I am sorry for the profanity but I mean, how could I not?). Reese’s is the candy that changed the game and solidified peanut butter and chocolate in the dynamic duo hall of fame (BARSSS). Reese’s regime has spun other candies that take advantage of the great pair and I just think that’s a beautiful thing. The fact that there are several types of Reese’s, and even multiple ice creams, show how great this OG combo is.

(Editor’s note: Reese’s Puffs are the GOAT cereal)

I could go on and on all day about how there is nothing better than peanut butter and chocolate put together, but I think you, the reader (now a peanut butter and chocolate enthusiast) gets the idea. I think anything can be a great duo if they both stand well on their own, like KD and Steph — lmao just kidding, fuck the Warriors, go eat a Reese’s.
