“The Ranch” Just Keeps Getting Better Every Season

If you haven’t head of The Ranch, a Netflix original, it is an undeniably hilarious, country-themed sitcom, that happens to be the perfect remedy for a lazy Sunday.

I was sitting on my couch Wednesday night with nothing to do but flip through Netflix aimlessly, as usual. When I got Netflix going this particular night however, something special happened. I noticed that the new “part”, or season, of The Ranch had been added. I had completely forgotten about the show that I become obsessed with every time there’s a new release.

You may ask, “why, Jesse, do you love this show so much?” So, that’s what I’m going to try to explain here.

The first reason is a pretty easy one. It’s these two guys right here:

Ashton Kutcher (Colt Bennett) and Danny Masterson (Rooster Bennett) just get my That 70’s Show juices flowing. I wish that show never had to end, and these two teaming up on a new masterpiece is just enough to make me feel like they never left. Kutcher plays a former standout quarterback who failed to make it to the pros, so heads home to work on his family ranch. Masterson is his more mature (barely) brother who stayed home and is now their father’s second hand man on the ranch. The chemistry is obviously still there, if not better than it was. Oh, and there happens to be several appearances from another That 70’s Show actor you may remember:

If only we had Mila Kunis too.

Another great part of this show is the crude, unfiltered humor. Beau Bennett, played by Sam Elliot, is the father of Colt and Rooster, and gives zero shits about anything. And let me tell you, it makes for some hilarious moments.

Then there’s Hank, maybe the funniest part of the show. He is a regular at the Bennett’s bar, and is always trying to wiggle his way into free drinks from Maggie (Colt and Rooster’s mom), the owner and bartender.

On top of all the laughs and the great storyline (which I won’t ruin for you), there is one more thing that almost every great show has to have. A good looking girl who’s character every guy drools over (speaking of Mila Kunis). This show has it, at least for me.

Abby, played by Elisha Cuthbert, is Colt’s high school sweetheart. There just happens to be something about that character. The combination of her good looks, her sense of humor, the fact that she’s a country girl, and her “don’t give a shit” attitude, makes for a great character.

If you miss laughing out loud to Ashton Kutcher playing a guy who’s not the smartest, miss Danny Masterson’s smartass remarks, or just need a new show to pass the time, there’s no doubt in my mind you’ll love The Ranch.
