Selene: A Top Mobile Wallet For Bitcoin Cash
Join The Cash Economy!
Bitcoin Cash offers instant peer-to-peer transactions with low and reliable fees, and various non-custodial services eliminating the need for trusted third parties.
Selene is the newest mobile wallet supporting Bitcoin Cash self-custody and fast payments (try it on Apple Store or Google Play).
With Selene, developers Kallisti and Jeremy (The Bitcoin Cash Podcast) planned to create one of the best Bitcoin Cash wallets for mobiles, and they succeeded.
Selene is open source, non-custodial, with no ads, only Bitcoin Cash, and no BS wallet, with a slick and user-friendly interface.
The wallet contains unique options to support faster payments and a simple interface, making it a top wallet option, especially for newcomers to cryptocurrency and Bitcoin Cash.
Let’s explore Selene, the new Bitcoin Cash wallet, and its features.
Just Bitcoin Cash
My first thought about Selene was:
Wow, this wallet is amazing!
Selene Wallet was named after “ the Greek goddess and personification of the Moon” (Wikipedia).
Selene is a Bitcoin Cash mobile wallet with no integrated ads, token promos, marketing stunts, or fancy extras. A wallet that slowly begins to find its way among the Bitcoin Cash fanbase.
Interface
The combination of green and black colors in the wallet is visually appealing, and the logo that merges Selene and Bitcoin Cash is aesthetically pleasing and unique.
After downloading, a new empty address is ready for us, with a warning to save our secret phrase.
The private keys grant us access to our Bitcoin Cash in the blockchain. The wallet is a service allowing us to unlock our funds with the use of the private keys or the secret phrase and move them to another address.
We can import our secret phrase or send BCH to our new address after writing down the secret phrase (and securely storing it).
Selene was designed to be practical. The wallet offers Bitcoin Cash users a clever and slick interface.
Settings
Selene Wallet offers miscellaneous configuration options.
We can import or create new addresses, select which currency the wallet will use to present our balances, denominated in sats which shows the balance in Sats (with 100 million sats equalling one BCH), and more.
Furthermore, Selene Wallet comes with some options that we haven’t seen previously:
- Instant Pay
- The option to turn on our device’s flashlight when scanning QR codes
The instant pay option makes the payment process faster, approximately by a second.
Without having to search at all, we instantly locate these options on the first screen:
- Request amount
- Hide balances
- Transactions history
When trying out the wallet with a few tips on noise.app, everything was perfect.
The transaction’s history loads instantly, pinpointing the top characteristics of the Bitcoin Cash blockchain (instant transactions and low fees).
Selene is the wallet that presents Bitcoin Cash in the most optimal way.
Selene and CashTokens
CashTokens on Bitcoin Cash already finds support as the first developments in tokenization, NFTs ( BCH Guru, BitCats) and DEXs (Cauldron) are launched, with trading volumes steadily increasing in TapSwap.cash and Cauldron.quest.
Selene will also support CashTokens with coming upgrades.
Closing Thoughts
Selene Wallet is a recommended option for Bitcoin Cash users, especially beginners, who will find it easy to use and will quickly discover the technology and value of Bitcoin Cash for payments and money transfers.
Selene enables quick and effortless payments. Kallisti and Jeremy have introduced a practical, secure, and reliable wallet, perfect for Bitcoin Cash users.
We can use Selene for payments, or we can stack green Sats. Either way, it works perfectly.
The more Bitcoin Cash infrastructure supporting self-custody, the better. Pluralism and competition will only bring better quality of services.
