Honest ICO Reviews from The Crypto Telegraph

There’s a bit of a hullabaloo around ICO Review sites at the moment. Every time we open Medium, there’s somebody telling us how certain sites deserve to be ‘benched’ (sure you all know what this means). So, as opposed to whining about skewed reviews and ‘experts’ who may not necessarily hold any expertise, we thought we’d give the whole ICO Review thing a go ourselves. We even developed criterion that actually assesses the project by its potential to succeed – groundbreaking, right? So, no more superstar ‘experts’ becoming millionaire advisors overnight, just reviews of ICOs by a strict criteria.

Our review criteria has been developed to assess project viability, use of funds and whether or the project team and advisors are capable of delivering on their promises. We have created criteria that each ICO review will assess thoroughly to establish a score out of 50 points, which then translates into marks out of 5 for the ICO.

Core Team Review – mark out of 10

All member’s profiles should be assessed, primarily for legitimacy and to see if they are actually affiliated with the project. Their skills, experience and education should all be assessed on the basis of them being able to make the project a success.

Advisory Team Review – mark out of 10

As per the core team, advisors should be considered primarily to see if they are affiliated with the project (usually via LinkedIn) and also to see if they have the skills to help the project deliver their objectives (experience of previous ICO advisory positions does not really count here, many advisors bring nothing to the table, merely allowing their profile to be used for marketing purposes).

MVP – mark out of 5

If there is a minimum viable product available for testing, test it. Consider user friendliness and ability of the platform to perform the task that the project wants to achieve. If there is no MVP, contact the core team to find out why not.

Concept – mark out of 10

Is the concept of the project sound? Does it need blockchain tech to work or is the use of blockchain tech merely to enable an ICO?

Marketing of project – mark out of 5

Has the team managed to create a buzz around the project? Check news sources and social media to see how many people are really discussing the project and if there is some excitement around the project.

Whitepaper – mark out of 10

Does the whitepaper explain the legal setup of the business (limited company, sole trader, partnership etc) and where it is based? Is the use of funds raised clearly explained? Does the funding target match the cost of the project? Is the token a utility token or could it be considered a security?

We are almost full on our allocation for reviewers, but we do have room for 3 more. If you think you can assess ICOs against our criteria and are beyond reproach when it comes to bribes, please get in touch with us via contact@thecryptotelegraph.co.uk or on LinkedIn and tell us why you’re our ideal candidate.

If you would like us to review your ICO, please get in touch through one of the above channels also.
