It struck me today

I have written

Over 1,000,000 words

In pursuit of the swamp light -

The Will o’ the Wisp

That haunts each waking day

And every dream-filled night,

Calling forth

In mysterious, beguiling tones

Inspiring and discouraging

Within the same breath

Promising some semblance

Of purpose and understanding.
