When they no longer receive
The homage of humanity
Do they revert back
To their vine-strewn jungle temples
Waiting for centuries
To be awakened once again?
Where does the scientific method go
When it is proven wrong
After years of study,
Concluding it was all
Just a bad experiment
Until the next trials begin?
Where are we left
When the things
We believed in
Crumble away
Or crawl back
Into our own imagination
Wondering if
It was all made up
By a confederacy
Of sages
and
Fools?
