For this Cube Daily News update, we’ll be splitting Nintendo Switch news into five sections, composed of hardware details, third party titles, exclusive games, exclusive features, and online features. Here are your essential stories for Friday, January 13th 2017.

The Nintendo Switch has a confirmed launch date + price:

The Nintendo Switch is getting an early, worldwide, March launch on the 3rd, and will cost $300 in the U.S. (European prices vary, but Japan’s price will be 29,980 yen) During these announcements, Nintendo’s CEO Tatsumi Kimishima also said that the console will have a capture button, Amiibo support (for both portions, including Joycons) and no region lock. When buying the console, you’ll receive the system, left and right Joycons, Joycon straps and grips, a system dock, and HDMI cable, and an AC adapter. There is no pack-in game, the console will be 32 GB, and will use cartridges.

The Nintendo Switch is getting high-profile third party titles from Square Enix, Konami, Ubisoft, Nicalis, EA, and more:

During a sizzle reel at the end of the conference, Nintendo announced an array of third party games coming to the Switch. (Bomberman, Skylanders, and Just Dance are the only launch titles) This includes The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth, Disgea 5, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dragon Quest Heroes I & II, Skyrim, Farming Simulator 18, FIFA, I Am Setsuna, Lego City Undercover, Minecraft: Story Mode, Minecraft, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, NBA 2K18, Oceanhorn: Monster of the Uncharted Seas, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition, Project Sonic 2017, Redout, RIME, Sonic Mania, Steep, Syberia 3, and Ultra Street Fighter 2.

The Nintendo Switch will get a new Mario game, Splatoon sequel, a new Nintendo IP, and more this year alone:

Many new Nintendo Switch exclusives were confirmed last night. For example, Super Mario Odyssey is a Mario game which features a New York inspired setting, 1,2, Switch, is a party launch title that primarily uses the Joycon, and a new fighting game IP called Arms was announced. There was also Fire Emblem Warriors, the downloadable puzzler Superclippers, an untitled No More Heroes game, a new Square Enix IP, an untitled Shin Megami Tensei game, and a Splatoon sequel.

The Nintendo Switch’s other big feature is HD Rumble:

On top of featuring every main catch of previous Nintendo consoles (such as portability, gyroscope, etc.) the Nintendo Switch will have an HD rumble feature for it’s Joycon controllers. This can represent the feeling of water or ice, and will be used primarily for games like ARMS and 1, 2, Switch.

Nintendo Switch’s online features have been revealed:

The Nintendo Switch will following the trend of paid online, but will give players a free SNES game every month as a perk. Unfortunately, these aren’t permanent, and controversy is following whether Nintendo has included voice chat or invites. We’ll update when this is resolved.
