Today we’ve got stories surrounding digital services, milestones, and cancellations. (Although, light on games) Here are your essential stories for Sunday, January 8th 2017.

SNK Playmore is making a new RPG franchise:

SNK has launched a new site for their untitled mobile RPG, set to launch in 2017. Some provided facts include that the game will be free to play and will feature a female/male protagonist, but a bigger flood of information has been dated to arrive in the Spring.

The script for the Uncharted movie is completed:

The long in development Uncharted movie is seemingly coming closer to becoming a reality, after writer Joe Carnahan confirmed the “monstrous” script for the film has been finished through Instagram. Carnahan has been known for his previous credits on The Blacklist, The Grey, and The A Team.

Steam has set a new record in terms of concurrent users:

In the new year, Valve has a lot to celebrate. Their digital distribution platform Steam has now set a concurrent user record of 14.2 million, a growth of two million compared to last year. As expected, the most played games during this milestone were Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2.

New footage has been revealed for a cancelled Mega Bloks Halo game:

Cancelled game archive PTOPOnline has uploaded never before seen gameplay for a Mega Bloks Halo game, which was cancelled in 2013 (because Microsoft needed to make plans for the Xbox One). The game would have reportedly featured two modes. (Watch the video below)

Playstation’s Live Events Viewer is being discontinued by the 10th:

Announced by email sent to North American Playstation Network users, Playstation’s Live Events Viewer will be discontinued on the 10th. (Across Playstation 4 and Playstation 3). Sony’s subsequent workaround will be the My Videos section of the Playstation Store, in which the same products can be purchased and seen.
