The Cube-Daily News Update: 4/28/17

Today signals new changes for AAA franchises, as well as a tidbit for one of the last upcoming WiiU games. Here are your essential stories for Friday, April 28th 2017.

The Joker is getting a redesign for his Injustice 2 appearance:

It was a safe guess that the Joker would be making an appearance in the upcoming Injustice 2, but it was far less predictable to foresee the changes the character would be getting. With a new trailer, Netherrealm has revealed that this Joker is a bit younger, but nonetheless crazy. Watch the trailer below for more of a preview, Injustice 2 launches May 16th.

NBA Playgrounds has a release date:

Saber Interactive has announced their NBA Street/NBA Jam fusion title NBA Playgrounds will be launching May 9th, on Playstation 4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. On top of this was also the price point, which has been confirmed by Saber to be $20. In other related news, the game’s full roster was recently detailed.

Over 30 million people have played Overwatch:

Announced via Twitter, Overwatch is celebrating it is surpassing 30 million players. The game recently hit 20 million back in October of last year, and gained 5 million come January. Be sure to keep in mind that this number is not representative of sales, but just the number of in-gam;le accounts. Overwatch is available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Call of Duty WW2 will lose regenerating health in its campaign:

In new statements to Polygon, Sledgehammer Games co-founder Glen Schofield has revealed that Call of Duty: WW2’s singe-player campaign will lack health regeneration. Reasoning for this was that the studio wanted to show the vulnerability present in war, on top of presenting a cool change. Call of Duty: WW2 is expected to launch on Nov 3rd, and will have an all new Zombies mode.

World of the West has been delayed for the Wii U:

Instead of launching on May 5th, Rain Games has released a new statement detailing that the WiiU version of World of the West is going to be delayed, in order to dramatically optimize performance. The game will still launch on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC as expected on May 5th.
