The Cube-Daily News Update: 7/10/16

As the gaming community reels from the effects from Pokemon Go, more news starts to reel in as the week starts. Here are your essential stories for Sunday, July 10th 2016.
Call of Duty 2 has gotten a fan remaster:

Activision won’t even make a remaster without having it being an added $20 bonus, but thankfully there are less greedy people out there, and especially in the Call of Duty franchise. Evidence? A modder has remastered all of Call of Duty 2, and it’s currently available on ModDB. We suggest that you should download it sooner than later in case any copyright issues happen to occur. Either way, mega thanks to TemplarGFX who reportedly created this!
You can remove the HUD in Battlefield 1:

A common staple of all Battlefield games, from main entries to spinoffs such as Hardline, is the option to turn off the HUD. Thankfully, this is returning to Battlefield 1, as confirmed by Youtuber Berdu’s playthrough of the closed alpha. We’re thankful DICE is living up to their cinematic promises with this one!
Pokemon Go’s UK launch has been delayed:

Days after Pokemon Go’s launch, and there’s still a majority of server issues, on top of the actual flaws the game has. Because the Pokemon Company and Niantic still need to iron out these issues, international users can only play the game by making a United States Apple account, even if they don’t live in the country. Who knows? You just might catch a Charizard quicker with that shortcut.
Accusations have arisen that Pokemon Go’s battle music has been plagiarized:

Although it thankfully looks to be fake, a series of Youtubers and Twitter users have pushed their support in that Pokemon Go’s battle music was plagiarized from another fan. However, this looks like a classic case of misinformation, as it’s simply just a remix. This isn’t the first hoax that has come out of this game, you can read our previous story to find out more!
Ubisoft does not think that the Assassin’s Creed movie will be very popular:

Speaking to MCV, Ubisoft’s European head Alan Corre suggested that the Assassin’s Creed franchise will likely not be as profitable as they would like, but is done to boost the brand overall. He’s not completely wrong, as the mass amounts of Chinese audiences who saw Warcraft are more likely interested in the property. However, it’s a bit worrying that Ubisoft is focused on this, instead of making the movie good.
