The Cube-Daily News Update: 7/12/16

While Pokemon Go continues to go viral, some controversy spreads in other places, and we’re not just talking about CS:GO. Here are your essential stories for Tuesday, July 12th 2016.
Battlefield is getting a TV show:

A month ago, we heard about how EA was working on a Mirror’s Edge TV show, and it seems like they’re continuing this strategy, but with far bigger franchises. The first selectee? Battlefield. There isn’t much information at the moment (poor project probably hasn’t entered pre-production yet) but we do know it will be produced by Paramount and be designed by some of the talent from Mr. Robot. Because it’s so early, we also have no idea of what channel it will appear on.
Overwatch has revealed it’s newest character, Ana:

Overwatch is one of the more teamwork heavy FPS’s to release recently, and if you are still struggling with this aspect, Blizzard has some more help to give you. After an early morning leak, Blizzard has revealed Overwatch’s new long range healer Ana. We’ll get more information following Comic Con, but in the meantime check out this two minute trailer!
There’s a fake Pokemon Go app circling around that could be harmful:

Whenever something is successful, people will always try to capitalize upon it in despicable ways. We’ve already seen this with the robberies and hoaxes that have taken place with Pokemon Go, but there’s an even bigger issue that could face you right at this moment, that being a crimeware app that can control your phone, and is still on the Google Play store. In order to avoid this, check the app details and don’t me gullible before downloading the game. It’s that easy!
Pewdiepie is being called a hypocrite due to a new FTC case:

In a case that’s finally been settled by the FTC after two years, Warner Bros will be fined for paying Youtubers not to disclose their Shadow Of Mordor Let’s Plays. While the Youtubers won’t directly get in trouble themselves, Pewdiepie has caught himself in some of the drama, particularly since he called out Tmartn and ProSyndicate for doing the same. Pewdiepie has had instances like this before, but we don’t want to go too deep as it’s sort of irrelevant.
If you live in the UK, you can buy Civilization 5 for free on Amazon:

It’s Amazon Prime Day today, and while the deals are just as wacky as they were last year, some UK players can find new solace in knowing that they can purchase Civilization 5’s Complete Edition for the price of 0! With Brexit further crashing the country’s market, it’s refreshing to see some good come out of the land, even if it’s insignificant.
In other news, Gamestop is currently selling used Playstation 3’s for $60 and 360 and Wii’s for $30. We don’t typically cover deals here, but the latter of that is pretty crazy, so we thought some of you might be interested.
(Trust us, we’re not getting paid)
