Revealed through the game’s official Twitter account, Sonic The Hedgehog’s comic series produced by Archie Comics will be coming to an end after 24 years. However, SEGA said that this does not mean Sonic will end all future appearances in comics, and a future direction for the series will be announced soon. While this move is somewhat surprising if you haven’t followed the comics, Archie Comics removed the line from their subscriptions list early this year, so writing was on the wall for an eventual end.

Geoff Keighley has clarified on Twitter that Hideo Kojima will not be appearing at IGN’s Comic Con Game Changers panel, while IGN’s Twitter account has added that Cliff Bleszinski will be replacing him. It hasn’t been detailed why Kojima couldn’t show up, but his studio has reported on Twitter that his absence was beyond his control. We will update if there happens to be more details.

Following their acquisition of Total War: Arena from SEGA, Wargaming has announced another move. They will now be partnering with UK developer Splash Damage on a series of projects, which will all have a multiplayer focus. The studio is best known for their games Brink and Dirty Bomb, as well as contract work on Gears of War 4 and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. There are no details for how long the partnership will last.

Xbox is now the official partnership of Real Madrid:

Xbox has announced that they are entering an official partnership with football team Real Madrid, meaning they can now invite fans to their matches, offer fan tournaments, and debut new hour of code contests. The latter two will take place at multiple Microsoft Stores from Santa Clara, Los Angeles, Miami, Oak Brook, and more. This could likely be a marketing move following Playstation acquiring the marketing rights for FIFA 17.
