Amongst Comic-Con nerdy goodness, various companies/developers provide plenty of promotion. Here are your essential stories for Saturday, July 22nd 2017.
Day9 will be hosting this years Dota 2 Invitational:

The ever so successful DOTA 2 invitational is returning for this year, and Valve has now announced that Kaci Aitchison will be returning for hosting, on top of a new host Sean Plott, AKA streamer Day 9. Day 9 has hosted the PC Gaming Show for three years previously, Valve has also explained that the event will run between August 2nd to August 12th, split between Group Stage and Main Event games. In addition, the Battle Pass Season will also be extended to September 18th, although this delays Act II of the Siltbreaker campaign. Dota 2 originally released in Summer 2013.
Fortnite is receiving Playstation 4 exclusive heroes:

Sandbox survival game Fortnite is finally set to release on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC this week, and now developer Epic Games has given detail on some exclusive Playstation content. If you play on Playstation 4, you will now receive four exclusive hero cards, which includes a ninja, a constructor, an outlander, and a soldier. In the game you can either use these directly, or add them to your active squad. Watch a trailer below for more.
Splatoon 2’s first batch of free DLC is arriving tomorrow:

Nintendo UK has announced on Twitter that Splatoon 2’s first free DLC will be the Inkbrush weapon, which is set to release tomorrow morning. This is likely the first of many updates planned for the game even though it released on July 21st, this is because the first game was known for its extensive support. Xbox is hosting a free multiplayer weekend to celebrate Destiny 2’s beta:

Destiny 2 gives fanfare for all console companies, no matter if they have the marketing rights or not. Why? Well, Microsoft’s Major Nelson has announced on Twitter that Xbox will be having a free multiplayer weekend to celebrate, which begins on July 21st and ends on July 23rd. This means you won’t need a Gold subscription to play a variety of multiplayer titles, Microsoft typically makes these promotions seasonal so you should jump on it soon.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is adding a PVP mode, with an open beta for the feature arriving this Summer:

Ubisoft is always a stickler for adding free DLC, and now they have announced that their multiplayer action adventure open-world title Ghost Recon Wildlands will be receiving a PvP mode in the future, with an open beta for the feature arriving this Summer. This is also being added along a new suppression system for the game’s co-op mode, in order to make team play and cooperation more crucial. Ghost Recon Wildlands first released on March 7th for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
