The Cube-Daily News Update: 8/16/16

Gamescom, Gamescom, and did I mention Gamescom? Here are your essential stories for Tuesday, August 18th 2016.

There’s a new Half Life 3 troll out:

Heading out to Gamescom? You might notice there’s a front poster for Half Life 3, but blame German sites Giga Games and Spieltipps for the confusion, as it’s only about a panel of editors who got to preview the game before it’s disappearance. It’s not like we’re going to see it in the next 20 years, anyway.

New details and a trailer have been released for the Dark Souls like futuristic RPG, The Surge:

Deck 13 is known for their sleeper hit Lords of the Fallen, and while they’re working on the game’s sequel they also have an original IP under development that has exo suits, makeshift weapons, and even dismemberment. There’s also a new trailer out, which you can check out below.

An hour of Final Fantasy 15 gameplay has been released:

Square Enix is making for the two month delay of Final Fantasy 15 a bit more manageable, and has now released the first 12 minutes of Kingslaive, and of course an hour of the main game. Just remember it’s a bit spoilery! (You can watch both below):

Xbox has released an array of trailers:

Recore, Halo Wars 2, Titanfall 2, Gears of War 4 (in 4K), and even a new FIFA 17 bundle. Microsoft has released trailers for all, with the biggest note being that Titanfall 2’s beta starts on August 19. You can check them all out below.

Frozenbyte’s new game has been leaked:

Steam’s at it again, and poor Frozenbyte (developers of Trine) have found them the latest victim. Their newest game, Nine Parchments has been leaked, but now we know a bit more about it. It’s supposedly a cooperative blastem up game set to release next year and even has some magic elements. Great change of pace if you ask me!
