The Cube-Daily News Update: 8/23/17

While we don’t have a ton of news centered around console straight-up exclusives today, DLC is more or less taking the forefront. Here are your essential stories for Wednesday, August 23rd 2017.
Activision is partnering with Xfinity to deliver a new promotion for Call of Duty WW2:

Activision has announced that it is unveiling a new promotion, in which X-finity customers can receive Call of Duty WW2 beta codes without having to pre-order the game. In order to redeem, you’ll have to request a code through an official site by August 31st (the beta ends on September 4th). The mode was described by Comcast as a way for the company to get more involved with Esports, Call of Duty WW2 releases on November 3rd for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Battlegrounds next map will be desert themed:

During Battlegrounds Gamescom keynote, a new desert-themed map was revealed, which so far lacks a release date. Other details for the new game area are slim, but thankfully you can view a screenshot above. Battlegrounds first released in Early Access during March of this year, a complete version of the game is set to release later this year on PC and Xbox One.
Indie title Rivals of Aether will be receiving Xbox themed character:

Announced alongside the news of indie title Rivals of Aether leaving the Xbox Game Preview program, Ori and the Blind Forest themed characters are coming to the game. There will be two, Ori and Sein, however, it was not announced if they will be listed as free DLC. Rivals of Aether first released in September 2015.
Final Fantasy 15’s fishing VR spin-off now has a release date:

Originally revealed at this years E3 in place of a cancelled Final Fantasy 15 VR spinoff, fishing sim Final Fantasy 15: Monster of the Deep now has a release date. The game will be releasing on November 21st, and will even include a pre-order bonus (which are dynamic themes and exclusive outfits) As for the mainline Final Fantasy 15, it first released in November of last year.
Rocket League for Nintendo Switch is receiving Nintendo customized cars:

First announced at this years E3, the Nintendo Switch version of Rocket League has now been unveiled to come with Nintendo customizable cars, after such franchises as Metroid and Mario. They will all be free, and you can learn more in a new trailer below. The port of the soccer racing title currently lacks a release date, Rocket League first released in Summer 2015.
