It’s near the start of a new month, but we’ve got a calmer tide of news ahead of the 7th’s new PS4 reveal. Here are your essential stories for Wednesday, August 31st 2016.

New York rap act Run The Jewels is teasing a Gears of War 4 collaboration:

Run The Jewels have found their way into everything lately, from a politically charged Bernie Sanders endorsement, all the way to a movie license snafu. Now, they’re performing something a little less serious. (No pun intended) The group has teased a Gears of War 4 themed collab on Twitter, meaning a new single could be coming, a possible lead into their 3rd and heavily teased project, Run The Jewels 3!

Hideo Kojima has become an advisor for an AAA VR company:

You probably haven’t heard of Prologue Immersive, but they’ve developed a plethora of Hollywood franchises and even have previous MGS talent on their board. Now, Kojima is joining their team as an advisor. However, this doesn’t mean Death Stranding is coming to VR, Hideo Kojima has always been very interested in the newest technology research, and this might be another step.

Konami will not re-release a finished “Chapter 3”:

As much as Konami wants to deny that Metal Gear Solid 5 is unfinished, they have announced that the game’s upcoming Definitive Edition (set to release on October 13th) will not contain any new story content. For many hardcore MGS fans, this is the nail in the coffin for what was a long and tumultuous saga to discover what MGS 5 had left. Farewell, r/NeverBeGameOver!

EVE Online is going free-to-play soon:

EVE Online was one of the handful of MMORPG’s that hasn’t gone the freemium route, but this changing in November when the game’s new expansion releases. In addition to this change, there will also be two new player types. (Omega and Alpha) Hopefully the same crazy battles are pulled off!

The September Playstation Plus lineup has been revealed:

It seem’s Sony is buffing their lineup with the latest Plus price change. Lords of the Fallen and Journey will be free for PS4, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Datura for PS3, and Badland and Amnesia: Memories for Vita in September. Now that’s a change!
