Plenty of Ubisoft, and Valve makes a rare, rare appearance. Here are your essential stories for Wednesday, July 9th 2017.
Arcade racer Absolute Drift is coming to Xbox One:

Originally released in 2015 and then a year later for PS4, arcade racer Absolute Drift: Zen Edition is coming to Xbox One/Windows 10. The game will cost $12 and is releasing on August 24th, it can be pre-ordered, and also pre-loaded before this date. Watch a trailer for the port below.
New details have been obtained for Playstation 4’s upcoming 5.0 firmware update:

Eurogamer has reported new details for Playstation 4’s upcoming 5.00 firmware update, which includes notifications to the quick menu, a master/sub account system overhaul, the ability to follow any user, and the long awaited 1080p 60fps streaming on Twitch (which works fully frame-rate wise if you own a PS4 Pro). Sony has yet to confirm any of these details, but most of them seem realistic, added for developer and consumer convenience. The Playstation 4’s last major firmware update released in September of last year.
Ubisoft is opening a new studio to work on its upcoming Avatar games:

Ubisoft has announced plans to open a new studio based in Stockholm, fronted by lead Battlefield developer Patrick Bach. The developers first project will be co-developed with Massive Entertainment and will be working on an upcoming Avatar title, which was announced via press release back in February. Ubisoft is hiring 100 people for Stockholm over a 2 year period and will also expand Massive, they most recently released The Division in spring of last year.
Ubisoft has listed the resolutions for their upcoming Mario, Rabbids themed strategy game:

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle releases at the end of this month (August 29th), and Creative Director Davide Soliani has confirmed the list of resolution/frame-rates for the title. The game will be 900p/30fps when docked and 720p/30fps when portable, which follows bouts of preview coverage for the title before it hits stores soon. It was first announced two months ago at this years E3, during the Ubisoft conference.
Valve has announced Artifact, a Dota 2 themed card game:

Announced at this years International DOTA 2 Championships, Valve is developing Artifact, a DOTA 2 themed card game set for release sometime next year. Other details are surprisingly bare, but Day9 who hosted the event proceeding has stated the game will follow some DOTA 2 rules, such as five heroes and corresponding abilities. We will update if more is revealed.
