The Cube-Daily News Update: 9/13/16

It’s Tuesday, and addition to this weeks hot game releases, we’ve got the same for headlines. Here are your essential stories for September 13th 2016.

Death Stranding will be open-world:

Speaking at Tokyo Game Show, visionary Hideo Kojima has announced some new details about his recently announced project, Death Stranding. It will apparently have an open-world, and has online elements. Not much else was said, but some tongue-in-cheek images were shown of Norman Reedus, Kojima himself, and others.

League of Legends now has 100 million monthly players:

Six years since it’s inception, the MOBA League of Legends now has 100 million active monthly players. Just for comparison, that’s about 1% of the world, and the same percentage for people that consume Mcd0nalds every day. A few years ago, Riot announced they had 67 million, so it will be crazy to see it grow even more.

Destiny is getting private matches:

Rise of Iron doesn’t launch for another week, but Bungie is ironing out some of the kings to make the release a bit cleaner. One of these, which was introduced just today, is the addition of private matches. This was originally supposed to launch with the expansion, but it’s coming early, to say the least.

Ubisoft is remastering Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations:

Just because Ubisoft isn’t releasing a mainline Assassin’s Creed game this year doesn’t mean they won’t be gauging money out of gamers. The Ezio Collection is coming November 17, and will feature II, Brotherhood, and Revelations in more refined glory. Keep in mind multiplayer isn’t included.

All of Battlefield 4’s DLC is now free:

Presumably ending EA’s Road to Battlefield 1 promotion, the prices for all Battlefield 4 DLC’s on current generation consoles have been lowered to 0. However, this isn’t available on PC, although in the case of Hardline, this may be different.
