The Cube-Daily News Update: 9/22/16

On this Thursday, we not only have minor and significant updates to some 2016 titles, but there’s also a rebirth of something new. Here are your essential stories for September 22nd 2016.

Call of Duty 3 is now Backwards Compatible (for 360):

Xbox’s Major Nelson has announced that 2006’s Call of Duty 3 is being added to the Xbox One’s Backwards Compatibility list today on Twitter. On top of this, he also expressed interest on games like Skate 3 and Blue Dragon coming to the system as well. We’ll keep you posted!

Geoff Keighley is making a new weekly gaming show:

With The Final Hours and Gameslice podcast being put on hiatus (and of course The Game Awards and Youtube Live At E3 only being done yearly) host Geoff Keighley has announced a weekly Thursday show to premiere on Youtube. It will be an hour long, and feature not only famous Youtubers, but also some exclusive reveals. The first episode, set to launch next week, will feature some new footage of Titanfall 2.

Dishonored 2 fan events are being held all across the US and soon!:

If you happen to live or be around San Fransisco, New York City, or Los Angeles around late September/early October, Bethesda is hosting events in each of the cities so fans can play Dishonored 2 early. There will also be giveaways and scavenger hunts, for big items such as a limited edition Playstation 4/Xbox One.

Firewatch is getting a new commentary mode:

In addition to it’s Xbox One release this week, Firewatch is getting a developer commentary mode. It includes details on how the game was made, as well as some fun facts. The game is also receiving a free roam mode, but this doesn’t have a date yet.

Mafia 3 is getting a mobile tie-in:

Mafia 3 is getting an RPG mobile tie-in called Mafia 3: Rivals, 2K announced today. It will be releasing on the same date as the game, but still have influences based off of the game. It’s being developed by the same studio that did mobile versions of NBA2K and WWE2K titles.
