Sony gives its State of Play stream a second round, and a new Ubisoft game is showcased. Here are your essential stories for May 9th, 2019.

Ubisoft has officially revealed the next Ghost Recon game, titled Breakpoint:

Despite a leak from the Ubisoft’s merch store, the sequel to 2017’s Ghost Recon Wildlands was revealed today in a new live stream. It is titled Ghost Recon Breakpoint and is releasing on October 4th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and will come in three editions. Unlike Wildlands, Breakpoint will sport PvP at launch and introduce raids and a major expansion every four to three months. Set in the Aurora Islands, television actor John Bernthal will portray the main antagonist Cole D. Walker (fans of Wildlands may recognize him from that game). the As for the editions, the standard is $60, while Gold includes three-day-access, a Year 1 pass, an exclusive Forces DLC pack, and a steel-book (exclusive to physical versions). As with any Ubisoft game, there is also an Ultimate edition which includes all previous bonuses, plus a bonus motorbike, buggy, mission, and DLC pack for $130. Lastly, the collector’s edition is $190 and includes everything previously listed as well as a collectible figure of the game’s main protagonist, a physical soundtrack, a physical map, a dog tag, and three lithographs. A new Predator game is releasing next year:

Friday the 13th developer Illfonic is developing a new Predator game, titled Hunting Grounds which is set to release next year exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Much like Friday the 13th, it will support 4v1 asymmetrical gameplay and 20th Century Fox is even providing the license. Hunting Grounds is set to launch sometime next year, watch the teaser trailer below.

Monster Hunter World’s first expansion, Iceborne, now has a release date:

Capcom kicked off today’s State of Play with a new look at Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the expansion to 2017’s Monster Hunter World. It will release on September 6th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and sometime later in the year for PC, and include the largest area in Monster Hunter World so far. As the name suggests, the main theme is wintery, but there will be brand new monsters, combat options, and a brand new rank. The game will retail for $40. Watch a trailer below. Monster Hunter World was recently revealed as Capcom’s best selling game ever.

Final Fantasy 7 has been shown again for the first time in four years:

There was some worry if Final Fantasy 7Remake would see the light of day, but the game finally emerged after four years at today’s State of Play. While a release date was not announced, we are set to receive more information during this years E3. Watch the trailer below, which showcases areas like Midgar. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was recently shown at PSX 2014.

MediEvil’s remake has locked a release date:

MediEvil is remembered as a classic PlayStation title, and the game’s remake is getting closer and closer. Other Ocean and Sony shared the game’s release date, October 25th, at today’s State of Play in a trailer with gameplay and cinematics. This will be the first MediEvil game since MediEvil: Ressurection in 2005, watch a trailer below.
