The Sound of Music is one of my absolute favorite films. It’s my go-to for when I’m having a bad day, it’s my example of a perfect movie musical, and the music is part of my life’s soundtrack. I love it so much.

I first saw the movie when I was a child, and aspects of it have stayed with me throughout my life. There is a commentary on humanity within the story that has shaped me into who I am today. Some of these points may seem obvious, but the movie reinforced these ideas in my growing mind. There’s a reason why it is such an enduring classic and I think everyone can benefit from these five sound lessons taken from the story.

Music Brings Joy
