Jumpstarting the team growth flywheel with Laura Jacques!
Great companies are made of great people. Today we just leveled up our team with Laura Jacques, who will lead our team growth efforts as the Director of Recruiting and People! She will focus on elevating the candidate, and employee experience here at Origin and, in turn, increase our talent density to new horizons.
Laura joins us from Uber, where she spent nearly four years recruiting top talent across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and managing several high-performing Talent Acquisition teams across multiple functions and verticals, including Eats, Rides, and Corporate functions. Before that, Laura had the opportunity to combine her passion for travel and hiring at Airbnb, where she played a key role in scaling the global teams from <500 to thousands in her five years there.
Laura’s passion for candidate experience, process implementation & optimization, and hiring will help further position Origin as a highly sought-after employer that nurtures and develops the impressive talent they bring in. Literally, since day one, she has been helping Origin strategize on recruiting and building stellar teams.
Like most of the Origin team, Laura loves to travel and plan trips that give her a new perspective and unique experience. Some of her travel highlights include a three-week trip to Vietnam, where she trekked the terraced rice fields of Sa Pa with an organization entirely owned and operated by local Hmong women in the region, called Sa Pa Sisters.
Learning about the region — their history, culture and food, through the perspective of these women, was an unforgettable experience.
She loves living and traveling across Europe for the past several years and still has a long list of cities she’d like to discover.
