Price comparing

It’s fine when you’re shopping and trying to figure out the best bang for your buck, or which applicant to hire, but this method doesn’t work when there’s an issue. It only works where there’s a choice.

Why doesn’t price comparison work when there’s an issue? The answer is simple. Because every issue is unique. That is – if we assume – you solve every issue that first appears and you don’t let it drag on.

But if we assume when an issue first appears and you resolve it, then we can also safely assume every issue that appears thereafter is unique. That’s why we can’t compare. Because we’re no longer dealing dollar to dollar here, it’s like comparing do you want street vendor hot dog or omakase at the CN tower. They’re both food and will fill you up, but they’re vastly different.

It’s still an “issue” no doubt, but you’ll find yourself going to wits end trying to compare and contrast.
