3 Important Life Lessons Learned From a Random Beach Dog
And how those lessons can bring balance to your life today—beach or no beach
It’s surprising to think that you can pick up life lessons in the most unexpected places.
Like on the beach in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, when you and your wife are taking a holiday. But that’s precisely what occurred when this dog came up to us carrying to a wood stick in her mouth. We assumed we’d just throw the stick a few times to satisfy the happy canine.
But as I played with this friendly dog, it reminded me of several life lessons.
Lesson #1 — You Can Make Friends Anywhere
Making a new friend doesn’t need to be hard.
All it takes is to go out there and discover a common interest or activity. In our scenario, the dog had been engaged in play with other tourists on the beach. However, when they grew weary of flinging the stick, the dog would seek a new buddy. The lesson is that you should not be afraid to interact with others, discover what common interests you may have with them, and form a bond.
That relationship may be tenuous, as in our situation, or it might develop into a lifelong companionship.
