The Courage To Be Disliked, a global phenomenon

We all want to be happy. But it’s hard to find time for ourselves. We have too many things on our plates and we don’t know where to start, or how to prioritize what needs the most attention.

It can be easy for self-help books to feel daunting, as they often seem inaccessible and complicated when you first look at them. That is why I recommend The Courage To Be Disliked as an accessible starting point that will help you take control of your life with the goal of lasting happiness.

It’s the brainchild of Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. A book I’ve read multiple times. It’s so good, I’ve read it three times already and I’m starting to re-read it once again.

The book tells the tale of an unhappy young man who visits a philosopher unexpectedly. Together, they have 5 separate conversations and the man’s life ultimately changes forever because of their multi-night dialogue.

The young man regularly doesn’t believe the philosopher’s teachings at face value, often entering into a verbal battle of wits. But with each challenge, the philosopher calmly responds, reinforcing his philosophy.

In The Courage To Be Disliked, you’ll learn how to take control of your life, as well as what it means to be truly happy.
