2017 Rookie Draft Primer
Info about our upcoming draft
Our 2nd annual draft extravaganza and our first rookie/FA draft is this weekend! See below for all the details.
Date/Time
We’ll all be together anyways except for Kevin, but just to make it official, our 2017 Rookie/FA draft is:
Saturday, June 17th, 3:00 PM
Draft Board
Like last year, we’ll be using Clicky Draft for our draft board as very few online draft sites fit our purposes. All of our rosters have been inputted, so the player pool is accurate with only rookies and free agents. Link here:
Draft Timer
The selection timer per round is as follows:
1st Round: 10 minutes
2nd Round: 5 minutes
3rd Round: 3 minutes
4th Round: 2 minutes
With apologies to Kevin, since the rest of us will all be together, I want the draft to play out at a leisurely pace, ensuring there is plenty of time to discuss trades and pick swaps during the draft. Everyone won’t be using their full timer anyways, so I still see the draft ending within 2–2.5 hours.
Draft Day Trades
As you know (or maybe don’t know, since nobody read the Constitution), draft picks can only be traded up to two years out. With our rookie draft kicking off the 2017 fantasy season, 2019 draft picks are available to be traded as of Friday, 5:00pm. (So that trade talks can occur while we’re drunk Friday night. Let’s get wild.)
