Executive Order
Just a minor tweak to the Practice Squads. Originally my thought was to let teams place undrafted rookies on the Practice Squads. I’m removing that and requiring Practice Squads to be for players drafted. Few reasons:
- That whole post I wrote arguing for Practice Squads was about how there will still be undrafted rookies that end up being gems available on the wire. This helps keeps that idea safe.
- This gives 4th Round Picks slightly more purpose. Now there’s a benefit in drafting Mr. Irrelevant with the last overall pick vs adding someone after the draft.
- I’m already gonna have to do quite a bit of manual tracking for the Practice Squad stuff so restricting it to the players on our draft board will make life a little easier for me.
Draft Weekend
Don’t forget, Draft Weekend is BOOKED for Friday, July 19 — Sunday, July 21. The rookie draft will be Saturday as always, I do plan on starting it earlier this year (like as soon as people are back from morning golf) so that we have more time during the day for drinking/games.
