2024 Team Previews — Part 2
Playoff Contenders
6. JR
2023 Preseason Rank: 11th
2023 Finish: 9th
Like his old roommate Marlo, JR’s team is built on his starters with minimal depth behind them. Josh Allen can nearly win weeks by himself and the fantasy rankings are expecting continued ascendence by Gibbs, London, and Pittman. As I’ve written often for JR, health will be the deciding factor on how his season goes.
5. Anton
2023 Preseason Rank: 8th
2023 Finish: 2nd
With an aging roster expected to take a step back last season, veterans like Mike Evans and Raheem Mostert instead turned back the clock to put up some of the best seasons of their careers. With Kyler Murray back healthy and Puka Nucua injecting some youth into the starting lineup, there may be some time still for this roster to chase their 3rd title.
4. Kevin
2023 Preseason Rank: 1st
2023 Finish: 3rd
Year after year Kevin would always roll out a combination of top-end starters along with some of the best depth in the league. Those days appear to be over with Kevin’s depth now ranking in the middle of the pack. His starters are still plenty dangerous though led by Patrick Mahomes as usual, along with the aging but still elite Davante Adams.
3. Jeff
2023 Preseason Rank: 10th
2023 Finish: 4th
Jeff has assembled himself quite the roster over the last few years, with Rashee Rice being the latest draft hit selected by Jeff at 2.03 last summer. He has a pair of RB1’s starting for him with Taylor and Pacheco behind the WR 3 overall in Amon-Ra St. Brown. And unlike seasons past, Jeff’s depth is a strength rather than a weakness.
2. Binh
2023 Preseason Rank: 4th
2023 Finish: 5th
Formerly known as Mr. 3rd Place, Binh made his return to the playoffs last season after a 3-year drought, and will look to build on his success in 2024. Anthony Richardson looks like an elite fantasy QB if he can stay healthy, and Bijan Robinson should be freed from the shackles of Arthur Smith this year. The WR position looks to be good but not great, and a lack of depth at the position could also weigh Binh down.
1. Mikey
2023 Preseason Rank: 2nd
2023 Finish: 1st
Our reigning champ will look to repeat in 2024, and Mikey looks motivated to do so, continuing to make moves to strengthen his position like trading for Chris Godwin. It was a smart move with veterans Hopkins and Lockett seeming to be on the decline and better suited for a depth role, of which Mikey has the best in the league by far to go along with his starting unit. Can anyone take down our short king Goliath?
