2024 Team Previews/Rankings — Part 1
Bottom 8 Predictions
14. Orlando
2023 Preseason Rank: 9th
2023 Finish: 14th
Lando saw the writing on the wall (or perhaps the screen with my ranking of him 9th) last offseason, and blew up his team to kickstart a rebuild. With Marvin Harrison, Brian Thomas, Ricky Pearsall and others, Year 1 is officially underway.
13. Zane
2023 Preseason Rank: 12th
2023 Finish: 12th
Zane nabbed a couple of dynamic rookie receivers in Rome Odunze and Ladd McConkey in the 1st Round of the draft, as well as D’Andre Swift in a draft day trade to bolster his RB situation while Chubb recovers from injury. However, while we have seen rookie WRs produce immediately, the projections are not so bullish. Look for Zane to make a leap in 2025, presumably with a top-end RB prospect.
12. Chris
2023 Preseason Rank: 6th
2023 Finish: 8th
It has been a quick fall from grace for Chris, who has gone from 1st to 6th, and now 12th in my preseason rankings over the last few seasons. Promising young players like Jerry Jeudy and Javonte Williams have faltered and Cooper Kupp isn’t getting any younger. That said, Kyren Williams has been a revelation and a case could be made for a Jayden Reed breakout along with a Hollywood Brown re-emergence with the Chiefs.
11. Jason
2023 Preseason Rank: 14th
2023 Finish: 13th
It feels like JTong has been rebuilding for ages but you have to think the light is near the end of the tunnel after a couple of smash picks last year in Sam LaPorta and De’Von Achane. With Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers joining the fray along with a hopeful second year jump for Jaxon Smith-Njigba, JTong should soon be entering the playoff picture.
10. Josh
2023 Preseason Rank: 7th
2023 Finish: 7th
With Zay Flowers drafted last year and Deebo Samuel added in a late-season trade, Josh has been able to hold steady at the receiver position behind AJ Brown as he rides into the twilight of Kamara’s career. Unfortunately, he is sorely lacking at the TE position and has some of the worst depth in the league especially compared to other playoff contenders.
9. Marlo
2023 Preseason Rank: 3rd
2023 Finish: 6th
Speaking of poor depth, Marlo’s is probably the worst in the league full-stop. On the other hand, his starters are in contention for top 3 thanks to a pair of RB1’s in Travis Etienne and Derrick Henry, the latter of which has moved his talents to Baltimore and should be a perfect fit for their offense. At WR, the entire fantasy community is eagerly anticipating the Garrett Wilson break-out, which was delayed last season after Rodgers’ injury and Zach Wilson taking over.
8. Kurtis
2023 Preseason Rank: 5th
2023 Season Finish: 10th
Justin Jefferson’s injury last year led the way for a disappointing season for Kurtis but with him and Ja’Marr Chase back leading the way, Kurtis should be right back in the playoff mix despite my rankings having him just outside the Top 6. Cause for concern this season is a reliance on Kirk Cousins returning from Achilles injury and a lack of WR depth could come back to bite him again as well.
7. Tani
2023 Preseason Rank: 13th
2023 Season Finish: 11th
Here comes Tani! Stuck around the Bottom 4 for the last three seasons and out of the playoffs for the past five, Tani could be back in the mix for a playoff spot in 2024. Jalen Hurts and Breece Hall could easily lead their positions in scoring and while less likely, it wouldn’t be a complete shock if Dalton Kincaid did so as well. The receiver position is a bit lacking however barring breakout seasons for Tank Dell and Christian Watson, both of whom are in crowded situations.
