4 Tips for Having a Successful Camping Trip With Small Children

And How to Make it Fun Too

It all started two years ago. My oldest son, who had just turned six, wanted to go camping for his birthday. My wife and I were quite excited about the idea. We already had a tent which would fit our family of six.

That’s right. We had just recently become a family of six.

As I mentioned our oldest had just turned six, next was our four-year-old, then two-year-old, and finally came our two-month-old.

We didn’t let our young or “large” family keep us from setting ourselves up for success.

Since that day we have gone camping several more times. Last year we took several weekend camping trips. Sometimes we went with my parents, other times we went alone. This year we only camped a couple times and we cannot believe we let the summer slip by without partaking in one of our favorite activities.

Over the course of the last couple of years, we have learned a few tips about having a successful and fun camping trip with small children.
